About the work
I've always loved mermaids and they often appear in my work. I have also always been fascinated and drawn to seahorses. With a head that looks like a horse and a tail like a monkey, it’s not surprising that a mythical mermaid is often depicted riding this beautiful creature.I was inspired to create this playful piece after coming across some fun vintage treasures from the 1950s.
